SWPBIS

School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SWPBS) at Tawanka

SWPBS is a program that focuses on prevention through the creation of a school culture that is positive, safe, predictable and consistent.

The goal of SWPBS is to create a social culture in our school that will encourage positive behavior and interactions while discouraging problem behaviors. This social culture will lead to a safe environment where students achieve academically and build positive relationships with each other and adults. The foundation of the approach emphasizes teaching students the behaviors we expect to see, providing reminders when needed, and acknowledging expected behaviors.

Ensure SWPBS is implemented with continued fidelity, by exhibiting Respectful, Responsible, and Safe behaviors throughout the school environment.

What is a Tawanka Token? What is the Principal's Board?

Principal's Board

At Tawanka, our children are encouraged to be Empowered Tawanka Eagles. This means they do their best to be:

Respectful

Responsible

Safe

Students who are randomly caught following our school expectations receive a Tawanka Token Sticker and a SPECIAL certificate. Later that day, their names are posted on the Principal's Challenge Board! Each week five students are randomly chosen to receive a small prize. The Principal’s Challenge also occurs each month. One student per grade level is selected randomly for a larger prize.

Thank you parents and guardians in our school community for your support and reinforcement at home!
